The Bump Buster is a compression butt plate with both spring and hydraulic recoil absorbtion which can absorb more recoil than a spring alone. It has a length of pull adjustment which allows the shooter to add up to 1 inch to fit the shooting style.

The hydraulic recoil cylinder is adjustable to customize the resistance to match your gun and ammunition. The Bump Buster compresses.20 inch under recoil, producing a response time hardly detected, with no distractions between shots. This was determined by the manufacturer to be the optimal compression length in order to get effective recoil control without causing too much movement in the gun or too much cheek sliding on the stock which could distract the shooter or require more eye relief with optics. If you have been searching for a quality product to absorb far more recoil than a recoil pad alone can do, this is it. It is also a great alternative for those who don't want to use a muzzle brake or it can even be combined with a muzzle brake for even greater effect. Moving parts are stainless steel and slide on Teflon liners for a perfectly smooth, trouble free motion. Mounting plates are aluminum.
Requires no lubrication and little maintainance. Perfect for Large Caliber and Magnum Rifle and shotgun shooters who need more recoil control than can be obtained through recoil pads alone. Dramatically reduces shooter fatigue and discomfort and improves concentration. For rifles with recoil up to that of a.30-06 or shotguns up to 12 ga 3' magnums, the standard model Bump Buster should be used. For heavier recoiling rifles that kick more than.30-06 or if shooting 12 ga 3.5' magnums, the Heavy Duty Bump Buster should be used.
The Enidine hydraulic recoil reducer in this system has multiple settings that allow the shooter to select the right level of resistance to match his gun weight, cartridge and shooting style for the absolute best feel and maximum effectiveness. This system will, without a doubt, dramatically cut recoil to a more comfortable level. The Bump Buster system itself adds.80 inch to overall stock length and length of pull (not counting the recoil pad). If same length of pull is desired, the stock must be cut to account for the length of this system. Aluminum mounting plates and pad plates come oversized in height and width so they can be ground down to match the customer's stock.

The recoil pad is then also ground down to match the pad plate. For wood stocks, three holes will need to be drilled in the back of the stock in order to mount the system. For synthetic stocks, a metal mounting plate will need to be fitted to to the back of the stock to provide a strong mounting platform for the system. Gunsmith installation is recommended.
